HISTROY OF THE ROTARY CLUB OF MAYUR VIHAR DELHI
Rotary Club of Delhi Mayur Vihar started in December 1995 almost more than 25 years back and the major achievements of the Club are as under :-
1. The club has 2 major Donors - Level 1 and Level II.
2. Total Contribution to Rotary India - USD 112802.
3. The Club sponsored 2 new clubs and one Club is merged.
4. The Club has one Rotract Club.
5. The Club donated one Bus to Blood Bank.
6. The Club donated one van to Blood Bank.
7. The Club has two Literacy centers are operational.
8. The club also donated 3 Vans to ISKCON Mid - Day Meal in 2011-2012.
9. The Club has adopted one Orphange at Faridabad (Haryana).
10. The Club sponsored a Room at ISKCON Noida in the rotary year 2011-2012.
11. The Club has planted more than 25000 plants at Akshardham Temple Delhi
12. More than 1000 approx. Units are collected every year.
13. The Club donated 250 Wheel Chairs to the needy people.
14. The Club participated in Digital Literacy Project during 2012-2013.
15. The Club participated in District Singar Project for Skill Development arranged for Distrrict during the year 2014-2015.
16. The Club is regularly organising health and eye check up Camps.
17. The Club donated 30 Sewing Machines out of which 15 Automatic Sewing Machines given in NGO for the upliftment of girls during 2015-2016.
18. The Club donated two computers to NGO at Trilokpur during 2012-2013.
19.The Club donated four computers and one projector and one printer to Computer Centre at Trilokpuri.
20. The Club distributes stationery sets to 50 girls students every year of Class 9th standard through one NGO which arranges free coaching for them. This is a permanent Project of the Club.
21. The Club constructed one Toilet Block for Public at DDA Park Mayur Vihar during 2017-2018.
22. The Club adopted Heritage Site from Government of India.
23. During the rotary year 2021-2022 the club started one Eco Brick Project, Participated in District Cycle Distribution to Girl Students Project and paid for 41 cycles, adopted one old age home at Krishna Nagar, Delhi and arranged one care taker and also arranged other essential items for the old people residing therein, participated digital literacy programme at Village Mandola (U.P.) and extended regular support to permanent projects of the club.
24. During the rotary year 2022-2023, the club opened a Computer Centre with five computers at Shri Gandhi Government Inter College, Mandola Village District Ghaziabad (U.P.) which has been very well appreciated by the College Administration.
25. In addition to the above the club is very active in organising the regular projects such as Mega Health Checkup Camps, Cataract Operations, Mammography, Checkup Camp, Blood Donation Camps, Supporting underprivileged during winter, Tree Planation, Health awareness programmes etc.
